Defence electronics development

Measurement, monitoring and control electronics for equipment that has to work outside a lab, built to the environmental and documentation standards of defence and government programmes.

What we do

Electronics for equipment that leaves the bench.

We design and build embedded electronics for defence, naval and government use: sensor front ends, data acquisition and monitoring hardware, control electronics, and the integration that makes a set of boards work as one system.

That covers schematic and PCB design, choosing components for availability and environmental rating, prototype assembly, bring-up and debugging, environmental and functional testing, and the drawings, test reports and compliance documents a defence customer needs with the hardware.

How we work

Requirements first, documentation throughout.

We start by turning the operational need into an electrical and control plan: what has to be measured, how accurately, in what environment, and what happens to the data afterwards. Writing that down before design starts is what saves an expensive second board revision later.

We build prototypes expecting to change them. Packaging, connectors, heat and ease of servicing usually shift between the first build and the one that goes into service, and we plan for that from the start.

Testing and documentation happen during development. For defence and PSU customers the test reports, inspection records and design documents are part of what you receive, and writing them up at the end is slower and less convincing.

What you get

Deliverables.

A typical job delivers the hardware, the design package behind it (schematics, PCB files, a bill of materials with sourcing notes, and mechanical interface drawings) and the test evidence: procedure, results and inspection records against the agreed acceptance criteria.

When the work replaces an imported assembly, you also get what the reverse engineering found: the measured specification, why each substitute material or component is equivalent, and the documents needed to make it again without repeating the investigation.

We follow your documentation standard where you have one. For DRDO, PSU and Navy programmes that usually means drawings, test schedules and compliance statements in the format the acceptance authority expects, prepared as the build goes.

Applications

Where this work applies.

  • Data-acquisition and measurement hardware
  • Sensor interface and signal-conditioning electronics
  • Monitoring and control systems for installed equipment
  • Indigenous replacement for imported electronic assemblies
  • Test and instrumentation electronics
