Engineering service
UAV and drone engineering
Design and development of unmanned aircraft (airframe, propulsion, flight systems, telemetry and payload) through prototype and field testing into service.
Inside the engineering
Separate disciplines, one delivery.
Mechanical design, electronics and embedded control are separate skills, delivered by one team. The illustration opens to show the layers, and the rest of this page explains what the service covers.

An illustration drawn for this page. It is not a CAD model or a production design, and does not show how the real hardware is built inside.
What we do
Airframe to field trial.
We develop unmanned aircraft from start to finish: airframe and structure, propulsion sizing, avionics and flight systems, telemetry and communications, payload mounting, and the field tests that show whether the aircraft does what it should.
Past work includes a hexacopter for defence use including fuze-height simulation, a quadcopter with a built-in data logger for the Indian Navy, surveillance aircraft, and 5-inch and 7-inch airframes. The features range from custom frames to autonomous waypoint navigation, altitude hold, return-to-home, low-battery protection and encrypted two-way communication.
How we work
Weight budget first, everything else follows.
Design starts from the mission: payload mass, endurance, range and operating conditions. Those set the all-up weight, the weight sets the propulsion and battery, and those set the frame. Work the other way round and you get an airframe that cannot carry what it was built for.
We specify redundancy by what a failure would cost. Six motors carry more payload than four and can survive losing one, which is worth the extra complexity when the aircraft carries expensive instruments or flies over ground where a forced landing is not acceptable.
Field testing is where the design proves itself. An aircraft behaves differently in the air than on the bench, so we plan several builds around the trials and do not treat the first flight as the finished article.
What you get
Deliverables.
A flying aircraft and the engineering behind it: airframe drawings and CAD, the propulsion and power calculation with its thrust-to-weight assumptions stated, the avionics wiring and settings, and the payload interface definition.
Flight-test evidence is part of the handover: measured endurance and range, control behaviour across the flight envelope, and a demonstration of the failsafes (return-to-home, low-battery response and loss of link).
If the aircraft carries instruments, we also work out how the payload is powered, mounted and triggered, and how its data is recovered after each flight.
