Summary
We are hiring a Drone Engineer to design, assemble, simulate, test and deploy unmanned aircraft for government, defence, research and industrial customers. You will work on multirotor, fixed-wing and VTOL aircraft, and on the whole aircraft from first sketch to field test. If you have built and flown your own and want to do it properly, we would like to hear from you.
Description
Vebix Automation LLP is an MSME and DPIIT-recognised startup in Pune. We work on defence and industrial automation, embedded electronics, underwater systems, drones, robotics, data acquisition, cable assemblies and Indian-made replacements for imported products.
You will choose and fit motors, ESCs, batteries, sensors, radios and payloads, and set up and tune Pixhawk-class flight controllers on ArduPilot or PX4. You will run the flight-control, mission and system simulations each build is checked against, then the ground and flight tests, and fix the electrical, mechanical and software faults those tests find.
The engineer who builds a prototype takes it all the way to reliable flight. That is a lot of ownership for one person, and it includes answering for the aircraft's reliability, its safety and whether it meets the mission it was built for.
Minimum qualifications
- Zero to three years of experience with drones. Fresh graduates with demonstrable build and flight experience are considered.
- Drone assembly and integration, including motors, ESCs, batteries, sensors, power systems and payloads.
- Configuration and tuning of Pixhawk-class flight controllers with ArduPilot or PX4.
- UAV communication protocols, including MAVLink, CAN, UART, I²C, SPI and PWM.
- Programming in Python, C++ or Embedded C.
- Control systems, sensors and state estimation.
- Simulation and modelling in tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Gazebo, ANSYS or SolidWorks.
- Mission planning, telemetry and payload integration.
Preferred qualifications
- Drones designed, built and flown personally, and participation in UAV competitions or student projects.
- VTOL, fixed-wing or hybrid platforms.
- Autonomous navigation and computer vision.
- ROS or ROS 2.
- Government or defence UAV projects.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards.
Tell us what you have built. A photo of an airframe you designed or a log from a flight you tuned tells us more than a list of tools on a CV, and the form has a question for it.
Submit an application
The form asks for everything we would otherwise write back to ask, so we can read a complete application the day it arrives. Attach your CV and send it.
