Summary
We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer to take enclosures, fixtures and assemblies from CAD to prototype to finished product, for drones, underwater systems, automation equipment and defence hardware. You will also work with vendors and inspect what they make. Fresh graduates can apply, as can diploma holders with three to four years of relevant experience.
Description
Vebix Automation LLP is an MSME and DPIIT-recognised startup in Pune. We work on defence and industrial automation, embedded electronics, underwater systems, drones, robotics, data acquisition, cable assemblies and Indian-made replacements for imported products.
You will design products, enclosures, fixtures and assemblies, and produce the 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings and BOMs they are made from. You choose the material and the manufacturing process as part of the design, and you design each part to fit the drone, underwater system or defence product it goes into.
We build prototypes with outside machine shops and fabricators, and you will manage the machining, sheet metal, welding, coating and surface treatment. You will also reverse-engineer imported parts, inspect dimensions, check assemblies, run functional tests, write the manufacturing and inspection records, and help with installations, trials and demonstrations.
Minimum qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, as a fresher or with up to one year of experience, or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with three to four years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo or equivalent CAD software.
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerances and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of machining, sheet-metal fabrication, welding and assembly processes.
- Willingness to travel to vendor and customer locations when required.
Preferred qualifications
- Product development and prototype manufacturing.
- Material selection, vendor development and quality inspection.
- Project or academic work in defence, aerospace, robotics, drones or underwater systems.
