Summary
We are hiring a Mechanical Technician to turn drawings into hardware on the shop floor: assembly and fitting, fabrication and finishing, dimensional inspection, and the sealing work that keeps underwater and defence enclosures dry. Diploma holders with up to one year of experience can apply, as can ITI candidates with two to three years.
Description
Vebix Automation LLP is an MSME and DPIIT-recognised startup in Pune. We work on defence and industrial automation, embedded electronics, underwater systems, drones, robotics, data acquisition, cable assemblies and Indian-made replacements for imported products.
You will assemble and fit products, structures and equipment, and drill, tap, cut, grind and finish the machined, sheet-metal and fabricated parts that go into them. You will work from mechanical and assembly drawings and BOMs, and check your work with vernier callipers, micrometers and gauges.
You will fit fasteners, seals, bearings and cable glands, help engineers build prototypes, and deal with machine shops and fabricators when needed. You will also help with testing, installation, maintenance and demonstrations, and look after the tools, the inspection records and the assembly documents. Safety, quality and housekeeping procedures apply to all of it.
Minimum qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or a related discipline, as a fresher or with up to one year of experience, or an ITI in Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Welder, Sheet Metal Worker or a related trade with two to three years of relevant experience.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical fitting, assembly and fabrication.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
- Hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments.
- Ability to work from drawings, instructions and quality procedures.
- Willingness to travel to vendor and customer locations when required.
Preferred qualifications
- Basic understanding of machining, welding and sheet-metal processes.
- Sealing, waterproofing and the assembly of enclosures.
- Experience in defence, aerospace, robotics, drones, automation or underwater systems.
We prefer candidates who can join at short notice.
