UAV design
Design and development of a 7-inch drone frame
A 7-inch quadcopter frame with an enclosed fuselage and X-configuration arms, improved over several test rounds for strength, airflow and stable flight.
The requirement
The problem this answered.
A 7-inch-class frame that protects the flight electronics and keeps the airflow clean, without the extra weight enclosing them usually adds.
Constraints and operating environment: Outdoor flight, 7-inch propellers, X-configuration.
Vebix scope
What we did.
We designed a 7-inch-class quadcopter frame for performance, durability and good airflow. An enclosed fuselage protects the flight controller, power distribution board and wiring, and helps the air flow smoothly around them.
We chose X-configuration arms to spread thrust evenly and keep the aircraft stable on 7-inch propellers. Each round of testing fed back into the design, which fixed the early problems with internal space and stability.
